Nedbank Cup Betting Preview: Quarter-Finals

Only four teams will be left standing in the Nedbank Cup by the end of this weekend and GladAfrica Championship sides TS Sporting and Real Kings will be out to claim major scalps.

Big dogs Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits remain in the running and both will be hungry for silverware. The Students will be out to teach their hosts a lesson at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. However, with Gavin Hunt’s charges in inconsistent form and still chasing the league title, Real Kings will be looking to take full advantage.

Hunt has cut a frustrated figure at times and will likely give fringe players a chance for this game. Now is the perfect time for them to step up and convince him that they can solve his problems.

Wits should have too much quality for their second-tier opponents and are expected to progress comfortably.

Prediction: Bidvest Wits Win 2-0

Suggested BET:

Baroka host Black Leopards at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in a repeat of their recent league tussle. Bakgaga won that 2-0 and will be out for a repeat. Leopards coach Alan Clark gave his players a tongue-lashing after that game and will be hoping it pays dividends.

Baroka won the Telkom Knockout in 2018 and have an impressive cup record altogether. Their experience and character is expected to see them through a tough test.

Black Leopards usually struggle away and are predicted to come out second best.

Prediction: Baroka Win 2-1

Suggested BET:

Two big guns do battle as Highlands Park host Mamelodi Sundowns at Makhulong Stadium. Sundowns are likely to rotate their squad due to fixture congestion, but their second-string players would start in most sides.

Highlands Park are tough to beat at home, though. Owen da Gama’s men have already stunned Kaizer Chiefs and are tipped to pull off another upset.

Prediction: Highlands Park Win 2-1

Suggested BET:

Bloem Celtic will travel to Kanyamazane Stadium to face TS Sporting in another clash between Premiership and Championship teams.

TS Sporting languish near the bottom of the league table, while Bloem Celtic are ninth in the top division and chasing MTN8 qualification.

Phunya Sele Sele tend to struggle away from home, but they have plenty of quality on attack. Their quality and experience should see them through this unscathed.

Prediction: Bloemfontein Celtic Win 3-1
