IPL 2020: Match 47- SRH v DC Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.

Betting Preview

In the 47th game of Dream 11 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) take on Delhi Capitals (DC). SRH is in a do-or-die situation and losing this game will put them out of the race for the fourth spot. Whereas, DC must win the game to consolidate its position in the top two for obvious play-off advantages. Even though both teams will be desperately hoping for a win, SRH has a lot more at stake than DC does.

SRH have been very inconsistent this season. After a decent start, winning three of the first six games, SRH won only one in the next five. Regular injuries to their star players have had a significant impact on their performance and the camp seems gloomy. Due to the injuries, they were forced to continuously make changes in their playing XI. They will kick themselves for not closing their last match against KXIP. In that match, we saw one of its most dramatic collapses in IPL history as SRH lost seven wickets for 14 runs.

Their bowling looks strong but it’s their batting that raises major concerns for them. The middle-order has looked shaky and unreliable and it will be upon one of the openers to convert their starts into big scores and match-winning knocks. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow looked in good form but haven’t been able to capitalise on their good starts lately. Jason Holder has added the much-needed depth to their bowling. Rashid Khan has been as deadly as ever and on paper, SRH a much better side than its past performances reflect.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have been one of the strongest sides in the tournament but have started to lose form and come into the game after back-to-back losses. Their last game against KKR was a disaster as they lost by a margin of 59 runs. With Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada bowling at a lethal pace, they have one of the best fast bowling attacks in the tournament. Similarly, Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel have been a terrific spin duo. But even they were unable to contain Sunil Naraine and Nitish Rana as they leaked 150 runs in the last 12 overs.

Luckily for DC, these losses are hardly a set-back as they find themselves in a comfortable position to qualify for the play-offs but it is the race to finish in top two that is heating up. Bowling is, however, not a major concern for DC but it is their batting that lacks stability. Rishabh Pant has been out of form and even Shreyas Iyer has been inconsistent. Shikhar Dhawan has been the only consistent batsman in the side. As we head to the business end of the tournament, Delhi must get their act together and find a way to win. A match against a disheartened SRH will be ideal to do that.

Injury and Availability News

Kane Williamson (SRH) is not completely fit and is likely to miss out.

Probable Playing XI

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Shahbaz Nadeem

Delhi Capitals

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shreyas Iyer (c), Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmeyer, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Harshal Patel

Key Players to watch out for

Shikhar Dhawan: The most consistent batsman for DC this season, Dhawan has scored 471 runs in 11 games at an average of 58.87 with two half-centuries and two brilliant centuries. He is the leading run-scorer for DC and is second in the orange cap race behind KL Rahul. Delhi will yet again depend on him for a solid start.

Kagiso Rabada: The leading wicket-taker in this IPL so far with 23 wickets in 11 matches, Rabada is the most dangerous weapon in Delhi’s arsenal. He has picked up wickets at an incredible average of 14.52. Currently one of the best death bowlers in the world, his spell will possibly be the most crucial as he can turn a match around single-handedly.

Rashid Khan: Rashid Khan has been the highlight of SRH’s bowling and has delivered consistently for them. He has picked up 14 wickets in his 11 matches at an economy of just 5.29. Khan is SRH’s key bowler at the death after being asked to defend mediocre totals. The Afghan is also the most economical bowler in the history of IPL. Khan’s ability to exploit the slower ball and his unreadable variations are expected to trouble the DC batsmen.
