IPL 2020: Match 51 – DC vs MI Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.

Betting Preview

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) lock horns with each other in the 51st game of Dream 11 IPL. Mumbai Indians have already qualified to the playoffs and are currently on top of the table with 16 points in 12 games. Delhi Capitals sit third on the points table with 14 points and are a win away from qualification. They had looked very strong in the first half of the tournament but their campaign has suffered a major setback with them losing all of their last three games.

The Capitals come into the game after suffering a massive loss by 88 runs against SRH. Their loss against Hyderabad by a huge margin has also hampered their NRR and they desperately need a win to keep their chances of finishing in the top 2 alive. Their batting has been very inconsistent and has suddenly started looking unstable with continuous changes in their playing XI. After hitting back-to-back centuries, even Shikhar Dhawan has failed to do anything substantial.

Rahane hasn’t been able to convert his solid starts into a big score and stands a chance to be replaced by Prithvi Shaw. With Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada in their side, Delhi’s bowling attack was one of the best in the tournament but all of their bowlers had a bad day in the field against SRH in their last game with Rabada going for nearly 14 runs an over. As we head into the business end of the tournament, Delhi must pull their act together and start replicating their on paper brilliance on field.

Mumbai Indians are inarguably the strongest side in the tournament currently, both on paper and the field. They have firepower in all three departments and they aren’t over-reliant on a few key players to get them over the line. They do not succumb to the pressure and can make a comeback at any stage of the match as was evident in their last game against RCB. Their top-order looks dangerous with de Kock, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav in terrific form. Their batting depth is their greatest strength and with Pollard and Pandya looking as destructive as ever, Mumbai looks all set to continue their dominance in the tournament.

Mumbai also have the luxury of the world’s top 2 fast bowlers playing for them and the duo of Bumrah and Boult have lived up to their expectations and delivered time and again. All in all, Mumbai look the much stronger side and it will be a mounting task for DC to contain them.

Rohit Sharma (MI) is nursing a hamstring injury and is not completely fit.

Key Players to watch out for

Kagiso Rabada: The leading wicket-taker in this IPL so far with 23 wickets in 12 games under his name, Rabada is the fiercest weapon in Delhi’s arsenal. He has picked up wickets at an incredible average of 16.86. Currently one of the best death bowlers in the world, his spell will possibly be the most crucial spell as he can turn to match around single-handedly, thanks to his fiery speed and penetrative bowling capabilities. He had a forgetful game against SRH but will look to stick to his strengths to find his form back.

Quinton de Kock: Mumbai Indians’ most consistent batsman this season, de Kock has also been their leading run-scorer as he has amassed 392 runs in his 12 matches at an average of 39.20. He has looked in fine form scoring a total of 4 half-centuries in the tournament and Mumbai will depend on him yet again to give them a solid start in the powerplay.

Jasprit Bumrah: One of the world’s best in the business, Bumrah has bowled exceptionally well this season and is Mumbai’s highest wicket-taker with 20 wickets in just 12 games. He is only behind Rabada in the purple cap race. His sensational spell in the death overs has turned the game around in Mumbai’s favour on multiple occasions in the past and MI will be hoping for yet another Bumrah masterclass.
