Vaal Horse Racing Betting Tips – 4 June 2020

Racing was given the all-clear from the South African government last Thursday following the decision to reduce the status of the Covid-19 lockdown from Level 4 to Level 3, which allows for the opening of non-contact sports.

There’s a full programme for horseracing fans to look forward to over the next few weeks. The meeting on Tuesday 2 June will be at the Vaal on the Highveld, followed by Kenilworth in Cape Town on Wednesday, Vaal again on Thursday and Friday at Fairview in Port Elizabeth.

Today, we have some quick picks to get you started

Fitness will be a real dynamic today as all runners are back from a break so there real fitness will be unknown and this could cause a few shocks throughout the day. Winter Stories has done well in his three starts without winning and should in the mix at the finish. Royal Wulff was doing his best work at the finish on debut and can go close.  Swingthewillow must be respected as well. There are some nicely bred newcomers and the betting should be monitored.

Champion filly Celtic Sea makes her return to racing. Her trainer obviously has bigger targets in line for her but she could still be a bit too good for these rivals. La Bella Mia blows hot and cold but if at her best she can contest the finish. Rio’s Winter has been very consistent so far and can contest the finish again. In The Dance is holding her form and could be a danger to her more accomplished stable companion Celtic Sea.

Race Summary: A tough race to be confident in. Flash Burn was full of running when winning last time out and if in the same mood he can follow up. The hat-trick seeking Nordic Rebel returns from a long break but has a winning chance. The Rising Legend is battling to win but is very consistent and must be given respect. Skiminac is unreliable but can certainly get involved with the finish once again. Bien venue and Indy Go also have a winning chance.
