Week 10 of what has been an incredibly unpredictable season and we once again have your betting tips which include the Titans, Jags, Browns, Patriots, Eagles and more. Your best South African NFL betting podcast.

Titans v Saints

Wow. 5 impressive wins on the bounce and all of a sudden the Titans sit atop the AFC mountain. After a shocking loss to the hopeless Jets, the Titans have turned their season around. Wins against heavyweights in the Bills, Chiefs, Colts (again) and the Rams have shown that this Titans team is for real. After receiving the heart-breaking news that King Henry is likely to miss the remainder of the season, the Titans went into the Rams house and still put in a dominant display. Their defence came up clutch, picking of MVP candidate Matt Stafford twice, returning one for a TD.

The Saints, another team who received bad news when they found out that their QB Jameis Winston was ruled out for the rest of the season, still claimed an emphatic upset victory against the Buccs even after he went out early. In the next game, however, the Saints themselves were upset when they lost at home to the Falcons. Their offence didn’t get going until late in the game where they did manage to put up 22 points, but it was too little too late.

Even without Henry, the Titans are the superior team and are in better form. Home team to take this.

Colts v Jags

Carson Wentz recovered from his poor performance against the Titans, where he threw 2 picks in their overtime loss. Against the Jets, he threw for 270+ yards, 3 TDs and no picks on the way to taking his team to a comfortable win. The ground game was also rampant, where they rushed for a season-high 260 yards on 30 carries. This offence is rolling.

On the other side of the ball, the Jags are coming off arguably their best performance of the season against one of the league’s best teams in the Bills. They only managed 9 points on offence and there were certain plays that they would have liked back, but that mattered not as they limited the league’s best scoring offence to just 6 points.

The Jags are still a favourite to have a top 5 pick and Trevor Lawrence still hasn’t shown off his “generational talent”, but this margin is too big and I see the Jags fighting and at least staying with 10.

Patriots v Browns

The Patriots, a team reinvigorated, have now won 3 games in a row and have put in some impressive displays. Last week the Panthers were terrible, but they certainly had a part to play in Sam Darnold’s capitulation. People were quick to dismiss this team and they are slowly fighting their way back into the playoff conversation. They still haven’t asked Mac Jones to put the team on his back, but the emergence of a run game has brought balance back to a previously blunt offence.

The Browns. The Cleveland mother****** Browns. Walked into Cincinnati and punched their division rivals the Bengals right in the throat. After a week of speculation and controversy, the Browns released OBJ and what we saw last year was repeated. No one can quite put their finger on why, but things just seem to work better when the star receiver is not on the field. Baker put in his best performance of the season and the running game was back to its bullish self. The key in this encounter is that the Browns may have to look to D’Ernest Johnson again after Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton were put on the covid reserves list.

Expect the Browns to pound the rock even without Chubb, Baker to spread the ball around and even if the wily old fox can coach the Patriots to a win, expect this to stay close.

Broncos v Eagles

The Broncos continued their unpredictable season when they romped to a 30 point lead against the Cowboys, who before the match were 6-1. The Broncos were 10 point underdogs when the game kicked off but they certainly didn’t play like it. Teddy B was back to his efficient self from the pocket and they ran the ball well through Williams and Gordon. They were however certainly helped by Cowboy’s QB Dak Prescott’s awful first half.

The Eagles, who now sit 3-6 on the season, are better than their record gives them credit for. Jalen Hurts, although still not a polished passer of the ball, continues to extend plays with his feet. Only Lamar Jackson and Nick Chubb average more yard per carry than the Eagles QB and he’s shown he can be a real issue for teams picking up more 1st downs than Chubb in almost 40 fewer carries.

The Eagles are better than punters are giving them credit for and this line is generous.
