Tokyo 2020 Olympics Daily Review – 28 July 2021

Wednesday was another fine day in the water for Tatjana Schoenmaker as she broke another Olympic record in the women’s 200m breaststroke.

Schoenmaker came close to picking up a new world record in the heat and very well may still do so.

However, there was disappointment for Chad le Clos, who finished fifth in the men’s 200m butterfly final.

The Blitzboks rallied back after a horrible Tuesday, clinching fifth place with wins over Australia and the USA.

However, in men’s soccer, it wasn’t to be, as Mexico humiliated David Notoane’s charges 3-0 in South Africa’s final match. Meanwhile, the women’s hockey team lost 5-0 to the Netherlands.
