Managers have quit their jobs after elimination. There are a lot of expectations once the country qualifies for the World Cup, some bigger than others depending on the history and the quality of players the team possesses.

Currently, four coaches will not continue with their national teams after their teams were eliminated some were sacked and some decide to resign from their managerial positions.

Here is the list of managers who quit after their World Cup elimination:

1 Gerardo Martino – Mexico

After Mexico were eliminated in the first round, tough decisions had to be made. Martino was the first manager to vacant his position after handing in his resignation letter. Martino was in the top 10 highest-paid managers at the World Cup, sitting at number six on the list.

2 Roberto Martinez – Belgium

Martinez of Belgium also announced to step down as The Red Devil’s boss after their disappointing exit in the group stages of the FIFA World Cup. Belgium had a lot of expectations coming in this year’s World Cup as they rank number 2 in FIFA World Rankings, Martinez had been working with them for over 6 years, being a quarterfinalist in the 2016 Euros, 3rd place at the 2018 World Cup, and quarterfinals in the 2020 Euros.

3 Otto Addo – Ghana

The Ghananian also handed his resignation after their poor performance and failure to win their must-win final match against Uruguay. The black stars played two losses and one win.

4 Paulo Bento – Korea Republic

Bento got South Korea out of the lion’s den, competing with Portugal, Uruguay, and Ghana in Group H. After their 4-1 defeat by Brazil in the round of 16, the Portuguese manager decided to resign.
