Could Liverpool’s Season end at st James Park?

A week of fantasizing turned into a week of agony. Liverpool’s European dreams were crushed by a little magician named Lionel Messi. Two magical moments had the world in awe and Liverpool clinging to their last hopes. With their chances of winning the Champions League all but gone, could they suffer the same fate in the Premier League this weekend?

The Red’s dream of winning their first Premier League has felt tantalizingly close all season. Their penultimate game of the league will be at St James’ Park against the high-flying Geordies this weekend; the very place that handed Manchester City their last Premier League loss.

For this reason, we’ve identified 5 reasons why Liverpool’s season could be over at 11:00pm on Saturday night.

1. Newcastle United have only lost one of their last seven home Premier League games against Liverpool, winning four and drawing the other two.

2. Liverpool have won their last two Premier League games against Newcastle – they havent won three in a row against them since a of four between November 2007 and May 2009.

3. Liverpool have lost 10 away Premier League games against Newcastle, only losing more against Manchester United (16), Chelsea (14) and Spurs (12).

4. Newcastle have won their last four home league matches in the month of May, scoring 13 goals and conceding just once.

5. Newcastle have won six of their last seven Premier League home games, netting at least twice in each victory (L1).
