Amazulu (8) v Chippa (15)

Nothing shouts ‘Draw’ like a 3:30pm Tuesday afternoon match between AmaZulu and Chippa. The odds favour Usuthu though, who remain unbeaten at home this season – a record they share with Sundowns. Chippa (still led by Kurt Lentjies) will see the early kick-off as an opportunity to get out of the relegation zone. They’ll be confident given that they have won more away matches at AmaZulu than at any other side in their top-flight history (5). However, they were blown away 3-1 on their last visit in Benni’s first game in the Usuthu dugout.

6 – AmaZulu have drawn each of their last six league games, their longest such streak in PSL history (6 consecutive draws also in Feb/March 2011).

AmaZulu still boasts the best home defence in the league, conceding two goals (one from open play).

Marumo Gallants (11th) v Cape Town City (10th)

After a less than impressive start, Marumo Gallants seem to have turned a corner. Before the November international break, they were winless and rooted at the bottom of the table. They have won more points since the November international break than any other side (13). To give credit to the November break would be an exercise in missing the point – their revival can be directly traced to Dan Malesela’s arrival at the club. At 2,55/1 odds, they may be good value for the win.

1 – City have won just one league game away from home since Eric Tinkler returned to the club (D3 L3), scoring Under 0.5 in five of those seven games.

Mamelodi Sundowns (1)v Baroka (16)

As far as form is concerned, these are two teams who are experiencing it in polar opposites. Sundowns are runaway leaders at the top, with a 12 point cushion from second place. Baroka anchor the table, a further 15 points adrift. Baroka (scoreless in 3 games) are also enduring the longest winless run of all top-flight sides at the moment, and it’s hard to see anything other than a Sundowns win here. (Bet.machibet777-app.com are offering a 13-fold return on a punt for Baroka win for the brave).

0 – Baroka (W0 D2 L5) are one of two sides yet to win away from home this season (also TS Galaxy).

Swallows FC (14) v Orlando Pirates (3)

It’s a 15-minute drive from Orlando Stadium to Dobsonville Stadium, 30 minutes if you fancy walking – that’s how close the two teams are (geographically). In football terms, they are not so close, with Pirates 11-points ahead at the halfway stage of the season. These two are meeting for the fifth time this year, with both teams finding the net in three of the four games played. Yet, Swallows’ home form has been horrendous – they are the only team to concede 10+ goals on their own turf this term.

1 – Swallows have won just one game at home this season, and that was a last-minute win over an unsettled Royal AM in the first gameweek.
