Mokwena And Folz A Force To Be Reckoned With

Coach Rhulane Mokwen and coach Romain Folz are a force to be reckoned with, having been the youngest coaches in the PSL. Rhulani Mokwena is the son of a former Orlando Pirates player and a nephew to a South African football icon Jomo Sono. He was born on the 8th of January 1987 in Soweto, the tactician coach started his coaching career in the youth systems of Silver Stars which was later renamed Platinum Stars.

In 2014 he joined Mamelodi Sundowns’ first team as an assistant coach after being promoted from the youth ranks by coach Pitso Mosimane. In 2019 he made a shock move to Orlando Pirates as an assistant coach to Milutin Sredojević and served as an interim coach, before moving to Gqeberha to take the reins as a head coach of Chippa United. In 2020 he returned to Masandawana as a co-coach.

Another young coach catching the eye is, Romain Folz, he is the youngest coach in the DSTV Premiership, at only 32 years of age he has built an incredible coaching CV for himself having been an assistant coach of the Ugandan national team and Pyramids FC in Egypt. He has an experience in both African and European football, as he coached in countries such as Ghana, Botswana, the USA, France and currently South Africa.

Folz was appointed by Marumo Gallants at the beginning of this season and has played six DSTV Premiership matches for Gallants, only losing one and drawing five before moving to AmaZulu.
