After an exciting summer of international rugby, the Gallagher Premiership, or Prem as it’s now known, is set to return this September for another season. The best ten clubs in England have all had busy summer windows, and all will be champing at the bit to get the new season underway. Here at Spreadex, we have all the betting action covered, with a number of both fixed odds and spread betting markets throughout the Prem season.
Read on below for the Spreadex preview, including how to follow the Prem, as well as key stats and betting odds.
The competition gets underway on Thursday, September 25th, with Sale hosting Gloucester in the opening game, which kicks off at 19:45pm.
Other fixtures from the first gameweek include champions Bath taking on Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop, and the Newcastle Red Bulls hosting Saracens at Kingston Park. Games for the opening weekend will not be played on the Saturday to avoid clashing with the Women’s Rugby World Cup final.
There are 18 rounds in total, with several rest periods throughout the season. The final round will be played on the weekend of June 6th, 2026, before the playoffs get underway. The playoff final will be played at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium on June 21st.
Reigning champions Bath will be hoping to retain their crown, and their star-studded squad will make them tough to beat. Leading points scorer from the 2024 season, Finn Russell, will once again be pulling the strings after a superb British & Irish Lions tour over the summer. Bath currently sit at 13/8 to win the Prem, the shortest odds of any team in our fixed odds markets.
Also among the favourites are Saracens, who missed the playoffs last season despite a squad full of internationals. They will be bolstered by the return of club legend Owen Farrell, who is back after a brief stint playing in France. Saracens sit at 7/2 to be crowned champions in June.
Last year’s bottom-placed Newcastle have the longest odds to win the competition, at 50/1. However, after being taken over by Red Bull, the now Newcastle Red Bulls (formerly Falcons), have bolstered their squad and will be hoping for a bounce back year. They only avoided being relegated due to Ealing Trailfinders failing to meet the promotion criteria after winning the RFU Championship.

We also have a variety of spread betting markets for this year’s Prem, including the Grand Final Index. This market awards points depending on how well a team does, with 50 awarded to the winner, 25 to the runner-up, 10 to each semi-finalist, and 0 to all other teams. Bath leads the way here again, with a spread of 41-44, while Newcastle bring up the rear at 1-25.
There will also be markets for individual games for every round of the Prem Season on the Spreadex website and app. You can learn more about how to spread bet on rugby with our Rugby Spread Betting Guide.
TNT is the main broadcaster this year, with all 93 matches for the 2025/26 season will be shown live on either TNT or discovery+ plus. Seven games across the season, including the playoff final, will also be available free to watch on ITV.
You can also follow the competition on BBC Radio 5 Live or by following official social media channels.
Round 3, which is the weekend of October 11th, 2025, will be “Derby Week” with all games being local rivalries. Games include a London derby between Harlequins and Saracens, as well as a Midlands battle between Northampton and Leicester.
Round 12, which is the weekend of March 28th, 2026, will feature three games at international and Premier League stadiums, including Villa Park, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the Principality Stadium.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit so it's important you understand how each market works before setting an appropriate stake size for your bet.
Please note that this preview is not designed to offer any betting advice or suggestions. All prices quoted correct as of 9am 19th September. Price Boosts and other markets will be added closer to kick-off times.
