When is the DP World Tour Championship?

The DP World Tour Championship kicks off this Thursday, running from November 13-16, and is the final event of the season for the DP World Tour, concluding the ‘Race to Dubai’. The Tour Championship is played at the Earth Course in Dubai, UAE and has been an event on the DP World Tour (European Tour) since 2009. You can watch the DP World Tour Championship on Sky Sports Golf from Thursday to Sunday.

Who will be playing in the DP WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP?

The DP World Tour Championship is contested by the top 50 golfers on the ‘Race to Dubai’ order of merit, with the winner taking home an estimated $1.6M from a tournament purse of $10M. Last year’s Tour Championship winner and current Masters champion, Rory McIlroy, is ranked 1st in the order of merit. Englishman Marco Penge is ranked 2nd after a breakout year, having turned professional in 2017 with three wins on the tour this calendar year. Other notable rankings are Tyrrell Hatton in 3rd, Robert Macintyre 5th, Tommy Fleetwood 10th, Matt Fitzpatrick 18th, Patrick Reed 24th, Justin Rose 26th and Viktor Hovland 30th.

Due to being a part of the winning 2025 Ryder Cup team, Shane Lowry and Ludvig Aberg are both included in the field this week (making the field 52 players) even though they sit outside the top 50 places on the ‘Race to Dubai’.

The tee times for the first round on Thursday have already been decided by the order of merit. Current leader Rory Mcllroy and playing partner Marco Penge will be the last group out at 12:40pm local time (8:40am UK time). Ryder Cup winners Shane Lowry and Ludvig Aberg are the first grouping out at 8:15am local time (4:15am UK time).

At Spreadex we’ve boosted the price of several golfers to win the DP World Tour Championship.

Tommy Fleetwood – Boosted to 6/1 from 11/2
Tommy Fleetwood already has one Tour Championship under his belt this season after securing his first PGA Tour victory in 164 starts in August. Fleetwood has strong links to the Earth Course, the home of the Tommy Fleetwood Academy in Dubai.

Fleetwood narrowly missed out on victory in Abu Dhabi last week via a playoff, so is coming into this event in form.

Matt Fitzpatrick – Boosted to 16/1 from 14/1

Fitzpatrick is a two-time winner of this event with victories in 2016 and 2020. However, he comes into the event without a single win on either the DP World Tour or PGA Tour in 2025. Can Matt Fitzpatrick make it a hat-trick of wins on the Earth Course in 2025?

Shane Lowry – Boosted to 25/1 from 22/1
Shane Lowry secured Team Europe the win at Bethpage Black back in September, but like Matt Fitzpatrick, the Irishman hasn’t won a tour event in 2025. Lowry always seems to be in the mix, and with all eyes on a Northern Irishman this week, can Lowry slip under the radar and set the bar on Thursday after going out first?

Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit so it's important you understand how each market works before setting an appropriate stake size for your bet.
